Delusional Movie Quiz

Watching way too much TV lately... but thought this would be fun. It's the delusional movie quiz. To play, simply name an actor and the film in which he/she has played a schizophrenic delusion. :-) Betcha I know which one's Jane's gonna go with... be fun to see how many we can all think of.

"My girls, sir, they didn't care for the Overlook at first. One of them actually stole a pack of matches, and tried to burn it down. But I 'corrected' them sir. And when my wife tried to prevent me from doing my duty, I 'corrected' her."

Philip Stone as caretaker Delbert Grady in "The Shining." One of my all-time faves.

I'll take the easy one:
Russell Crowe in "A Beautiful Mind."

Do we also get extra points if we notice that while your posts read Tigerlily, your comments are still Curiousity Jane? Sorry, couldn't help being a smart ass...And no, I have no idea how to change either.

Thanks guys...for leaving me my favorite movie of all time. :-)

"Warning: If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think every thing you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned."

Tyler Durden, played by Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, in "Fight Club"

jn... didn't see The Shining... so I'll have to take you on faith. (Sorry, don't do horror genre, way too vivid an imagination)

db... sorry, but no points for you. You blew the easy one. Your task was to name actors in film roles of schizophrenic delusions... not the delusional themselves. Russell Crowe as John Nash was an actual flesh and blood character. His delusions were played by Ed Harris and Paul Bettany. Had you named THEM, you would have scored. So sorry to trip you up on the technicality, but thanks for playing.

Cellophane Jane... oooh... so close. And yet, based on the same technicality that I've called db out on... can only score you 1/2 points. Pitt as Durden was the delusion... Norton as Durden... the delusional.

CJ... will reinstate your points if you give me the film where Norton actually DID play a schizophrenic delusion... (sort of) but you have to name the correct character :-)

Ooh! Ooh! Would that be Primal Fear, in which he played Aaron Stampler, a young man pretending to have multiple personality disorder?

Sorry to give away the plot twist if you haven't seen it.

BTW, I'm not a horror fan either. "The Shining" simply transcends the genre. It's that good.

I'll be willing to dock points from my score by admitting that what goes on at the Overlook may be delusion, or it may be real, but only to selective parties. That's the whole point of "shining": only some of us are privy/susceptible to such things. Whether it's reality or illness may depend on your point of view.

Sweet JN! Nicely done. :-) No docking points from your own score necessary... I mean the whole delusional world is a bit slippy anyway, and the points scored here are kinda like the points awarded on Who's Line Is It Anyway... if only Ryan Stiles were schizophrenic, how fun would that be :-)

If Ryan Stiles was schizophrenic, maybe his other personality could marry *me*! Oh, I forgot, I'm already married. It was a nice thought...
